Problem
Loom Creators experience many barriers to recording that can make the process time consuming or impractical. This h=led to a major drop off between opening the recorder and sharing a completed video.
Goal
Help creators make higher quality looms in fewer takes through simplifying the recording set up and improving feature discoverability
Iterations
We began by establishing clear product principles: ensuring Loom was opinionated, proactive, and recoverable. Explorations centered around reducing friction by designing "sticky" settings that remembered user preferences, automatic adjustments for optimal recording conditions, and supportive tooling to help users feel comfortable and prepared
Final Designs
